About Dental Implants
Implant dentistry is a long-lasting and effective treatment for replacing one lost tooth or several and restore your gorgeous smile. MINT dentistry is happy to use dental implants with custom restorations for our patients in Dallas, TX who want a radiant smile that looks, feels, and works like their own teeth. An implant is a post that's placed in your jaw (performed by a board-certified oral surgeon) to mimic the missing root of your tooth. The implanted post or posts will be connected to a restoration (crown, bridge, or dentures) for a result that is natural looking and lasts for years. If you want to restore your smile by replacing one or more teeth, make an appointment for a consultation at MINT dentistry in Dallas, TX. During your consultation at our modern dental practice, you will learn about our commitment to help you reach your goals while restoring optimal oral health.
All-On-4® Dental Implants
All-on-4® dental implants, manufactured by Nobel Biocare®, offer a comprehensive full-arch restoration with custom dentures. All-on-4® implant dentures work by posting metal posts (the dental implants) at strategic points on the upper and/or lower arch. When compared to other types of implant-supported dentures, All-on-4® offers a better fit with as few as four posts. We recommend All-on-4® implanted dentures to get a beautifully restored smile minus the glues, soaking, or dietary restrictions of traditional dentures. A lot of our patients appreciate the benefits of the cutting-edge All-on-4® process with results that look amazing and last a long time. If you'd like to learn about the advantages of All-on-4® implanted dentures, we encourage you to schedule a consultation.

Best Candidates for Dental Implants
MINT dentistry professionals suggest a crown, bridge, or dentures supported by implants to restore your smile if you are missing one tooth or several. You may be a good candidate for an implant-supported crown, bridge, or denture if you have one or more traditional restorations but are unsatisfied with dietary restrictions, maintenance, or its general appearance. At your consultation, a board-certified doctor will assess your mouth, particularly your gums and jawbone, to decide if you're able to receive an implant. You are probably not a good candidate for implant dentistry if you are being treated for gum disease, use tobacco products, or may become pregnant during the implant process.
What to Expect
Before your dental implant appointment is scheduled, your MINT dentistry team will decide if you require jawbone or gum augmentation. If you do, these will be completed and allowed to heal before your implant procedure is done. As soon as you are approved for implants, our team will schedule your oral surgery to place the implant post(s). At the start of your implant surgery, your team will lead you back to the procedure room and allow you a chance to start relaxing in a comfortable treatment chair, where we will give you Beats headphones and MINT sunglasses. When you are ready, your doctor will administer your anesthesia and, if needed, sedation. Then, the oral surgeon will make the needed incision(s) in your mouth and fit the metal post(s) in the bone. We will repeat this process until all implants are in place. Finally, your doctor will close your gums, leaving the top of the implant visible over the top of your gumline. During the next several months, your post(s) will integrate with your gums and jawbone. While this occurs, a temporary crown, bridge, or denture will be placed to hide and protect the implant(s). As soon as you're healed, we will connect your custom crown, bridge, or denture to the implant(s), so you can start smiling, eating, and speaking like normal.
Treatment Aftercare
Following surgery, you will likely have some inflammation in your mouth and lower face as well as some bruising, discomfort, and bleeding. These symptoms are normally mild to moderate and temporary, but please contact us if your symptoms last too long or seem abnormal. Your doctor may write you a prescription for antibiotics and/or pain medication in addition to detailed instructions, like dietary recommendations, so your recovery is smooth. When your implant(s) has integrated and your crown, bridge, or denture has been connected, you need to maintain a good dental care routine at home, which includes flossing and brushing your teeth twice a day. You may be asked to schedule follow-up appointments that will allow us a chance to check and adjust your restoration. MINT dentistry suggests you keep attending dental examinations and cleanings to keep both your natural teeth and restorations healthy and attractive.
The MINT Commitment
While dental insurance policies differ, part of the cost of your implant placement procedure and custom restoration may be paid. A member of our finance team will speak to your insurance provider to understand your coverage and determine your out-of-pocket expenses. In your initial consultation with your doctor, we will discuss which payment methods our office accepts and we can give you information on low-interest financing. At MINT dentistry, we are dedicated to making sure all our patients have a healthy, beautiful smile. If you don't have insurance, ask your dentist if you are eligible for the MINT Discount Plan, which can help you better afford your dental care.
